Rajnath Singh has said that in the case of old pension restoration, he will soon be trying to resolve the problems of the employees by talking to Prime Minister Narendra Modiji. Mr. Singh gave this assurance to the delegation of the National Joint Council of Action, which was led by Com. Shiv Sengagopal Mishra, GS AIRF & the staff side secretary of NC-JCM. The meeting with the NC JCA’s delegation began around 10 a.m. in the morning with the Home Minister. In the meeting, AIRF GS Shivgopal Mishra informed Home Minister Rajnath Singh that on January 28, he met the Railway Minister, who currently holds the office of the Finance Ministry also and informed all the demands of CG employees. Mr.Push Goyal has been told that there is huge anger not only in railway employees but also with all the Central Govt employees on the NPS. The Railway Minister has been informed of the whole situation. Mr Push Goyal said that in that case, he will discuss the same at the higher level. Mr Mishra, told the Home Minister again today that the workers are agitating across the country with the demand for restoration of old pension. A large number of teachers are also on the streets along with the state employees. Time has come that the government will intervene immediately in the whole matter and take necessary action to clear the path for restoration of OldPension scheme. Sri Misra reminded that now the government has a very short time to make policy decision without further delay as elections are fast approaching If it is further delayed the employees’ anger will lead to unpleasant situation to Govt. However, Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured the delegation that efforts will be made to resolve the issue and he will soon talk to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the sentiments of the central Govt staff and try to remove the resentment of the employees. Minimum wage of Rs 26,000, and fitment formula issues were also raised by the delegation . NC-JCA chairman M Raghavaiah raised the issue of the not conducting of regular meeting of the NC JCM. He said that this is a major forum to avoid confrontation between the Government of India and the employees, but it is not meeting for years. The National Council meeting has not been held for last 10 years. This is a serious matter. The Home Minister listened carefully to all the issues raised by the delegation and said that the government will make every effort to redress the grievances of central employees. The delegation included KK Kutty, Ashok Singh, Guman Singh, LN Pathak, RN Parashar and others. Later, it was decided in the meeting of the JCM that on February 21, at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar a day’s dharana will be held . In this, all workers of all the unions of NC JCM will participate. The dharana will last all day. * Similarly, on March 13, Delhi and surrounding areas central Govt staff will protest and demand for the restoration of old pension by eliminating NPS. All central Govt. employees across the country will perform dharna on the same day wearing black badges at workplaces. * It was also decided in the meeting that NC JCA leaders will meet all political parties and will ask them to include in their manifesto that they will restore the old pension if they come to power in the ensuing election.
