IRCTC’s Bharat Darshan Tourist Train: Ticket Prices, Destinations And Other Details

IRCTC Tourism-operated ‘Bharat Darshan’ tourist train is one of the most affordable all-inclusive tour train, informed IRCTC Tourism on its official website. Bharat Darshan special tourist train covers important religious and leisure destinations of the country. Initially this train was termed as ‘Village on Wheels’.

The first ‘Village on Wheels’ train was operated on November 29, 2004 after it was announced in the ‘Rail Budget’ speech, mentioned IRCTC Tourism. IRCTC has been running several ‘Bharat Darshan’ trains on pan-India basis at a starting price of Rs. 900 (exclusive of taxes) per passenger per day.

10 things to know about IRCTC’s Bharat Darshan Tourist Train:

1. Bharat Darshan tourist train provides confirmed train travel in sleeper class coaches.

2. Breakfast, lunch and dinner shall be served in the train, which is inclusive in the package, normal room temperature water will be served on board whereas IRCTC will try to serve cool water (Subject to availability of Ice during the journey). Serving cool water on board is not mandatory.

3. In case of demand, one AC coach may also be included in the tourist train.

4. This train tour provides the facility of boarding and de-boarding at small cities/ towns for the convenience of travellers as per the itinerary.

5. At Destinations, only Dharamshala accommodation (Dormitory/ Hall) will be provided, the bed rolls will be provided and laid on the ground, beds will not be provided, however if guest want, they can request the Tour Escort/ Train Management for the booking of Hotel Rooms on extra cost paid by the guest as per the feasibility and availability.

6. The average duration of trip is 7-12 days as per itinerary.

7. Some of the popular Bharat Darshan tours are Do Dham Yatra, Nav Jyotirlinga Special, South India Special, Shirdi Special, Tirupati Darshan, Dwarka-Somnath, Gangasagar-Puri, Bharat Darshan with Vaishno Devi etc.

8. Passengers can avail Leave Travel Concession (LTC) on the packages of Bharat Darshan tourist train. LTC certificate is provided to travellers after completion of the tour.

9. Road Transportation will be provided at each destination in NON AC Buses (55 Seater) only, however in case of non-availability of buses some other mode of road transportation may be arranged as per the availability and feasibility. In case if a passenger needs private vehicle or other vehicle apart from the one arranged for other passengers – It can be arranged on the extra payment from the client and as per the availability.

10. Bookings for this special train can be done online or through IRCTC’s offices and tourist Information and facilitation centres available across India. Ticketing agents of IRCTC can also book tickets using their existing ids.
