7th Pay Commission: Tamil Nadu government appoints 5-member committee to study recommendations

Nearly eight months after the Narendra Modi government cleared the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the Tamil Nadu government has taken the first step towards ensuring state government employees too get a pay hike. The E Palaniswami government had appointed a five-member committee to study the recommendations made by the Seventh Pay Commission and accordingly draft a plan for the state. The Seventh Pay Commission recommended a 14.27 per cent hike in basic pay.
